![]() ![]() Pro Tip - Review a course lay out prior to playing. Highly recommend playing a round if you are any where in the area. The course lends itself to be as challenging as you want it to be. The views of the lake and distant hills provide an amazing back drop for some really fun golf. ![]() I found the course to be in excellent shape. If you are not quite so long of a hitter, there are plenty of opportunities to take the safer route to the greens. If you are a consistent long ball hitter, feel free to clear over 200 yards of water and go for the green. That being said, every hole provides a judicious allowance of risk and reward. The lake plays into a majority of the holes. The course plays along the shoreline of Lake Lanier in Buford GA. Legacy Golf Course is a 18 hole, yard course (Blue Tees) located at Lake Lanier Islands. Play the course, you will love it and grab a breakfast biscuit sandwich if you can. I can imagine on a busy summer day this could be a longer round with folks losing balls and taking pictures. Since I played in the AM, I was told by a “regular” that you “have to have the breakfast egg/bacon/cheese biscuit sandwich… the lodge makes them and it’s the reason I play here”… he was correct, and the rest of the food, dawgs/sandwiches/chips were just as good.Īlthough it was cart path only, I was able to play in a little over 3 hours on my own. Interestingly, the pricing includes everything, cart, range balls, Breakfast, lunch, snacks and non-alcoholic drinks… and the staff is professional, upbeat and caring. In other words, a good challenge with some holes, that if you don’t know them, can make the choice of a second shot difficult club selection (#8 and #14). Now for the course… its’ short, but not easy… with elevation changes, fairways narrowing, water coming into play, including at least two carries over water and greens with some elevation and undulation. This course is stunning in beauty… with 12 holes next to water and almost all the remaining holes you are still able to see Lake Lanier. I played in late February, and the greens were in great shape and most of the fairways, although still dormant and brown, were in good shape.
